Tatuaje Pudgy Chuck

After the success of the little monster serie sampler Pete Johnson decided to release another sampler with the six first Tatuaje Monster releases in a shorter size but with the original ring gauge, the Tatuaje Pudgy Monsters with an added new release Chucky and Tiff. I will be reviewing the complete sampler in the next few weeks.

Cigar #7 is a bit of a strange story as its a new blend, not just new for the Monster spin off series but a complete new blend as there’s never a full size Chuck. The cigar has Nicaraguan fillers and binder with an Ecuadorean Habano wrapper in a 4×50 short robusto size. For the ring Johnson chose baby blue with white lettering. The wrapper has a very nice dark chocolate color with small veins. Construction feels good and the cigar has a strong stable or barnyard aroma. The cold draw is perfect and quite spicy.

I taste nutmeg and a toast flavor, but with a hint of pepper so it’s nothing like a piece of French toast for breakfast. There is also some creamy sweetness. After half a centimeter it’s the toast flavor that’s most powerful.

After a third there is a bit more sweetness on a toasty base. Halfway I also taste a woody flavor with the toast and sugary sweetness. The flavors are all a bit creamy. Near the end the woody flavor gets stronger but still with a lot of sweetness.

The smoke is a bit thin but not thin enough to complain about and it gets ticker along the way. The ash is silver gray and firm. The draw is just as I like it. The burn is sharp. I would calm this cigar medium bodied and full flavored. This small cigar lasted me little over an hour.

Would I buy this cigar again? Yes, and I would also love to try this in a robusto and Churchill size.
