Trinidad Robusto T

Even though Trinidad has been made since 1969, the marca didn’t become available on the customer market before 1997, but it gained a strong fanbase since. The 5×50 Robusto T is the latest addition to the portfolio and I got this as a gift from Patrick, the shopmanager of the La Casa del Habano in Antwerp. We herf there regularly, last time I wasn’t able to go and he gave my friends this cigar for me.
The cigar is latte colored with a small pigtail. The wrapper has a small veins and a mild oily shine. I like the band. The construction feels good and the predraw is fine. It has a tobacco flavor.
I taste nuts and toast, smooth but full and a few puffs later I also taste wood and pepper. After an inch I taste a lot of leather with some pepper and every now and then some nuts on the background.
Halfway I still taste leather with a hint of dry chocolate. The nuts slowly grow in strength and starts to overpower the leather. I also taste a strong white pepper taste.
This cigar lasted me eighty minutes. The draw is great and I get plenty of medium thick smoke. The ash is pepper and salt colored and firm. The burn is great, straight and slow. This Trinidad Robusto T is full flavored and medium to full bodied.
Would I buy this cigar again? Every now and then, great cigar but with a high price tag

Trinidad Reyes

The Trinidad Reyes is a nice small (4 ¼ inch, ring 42) Cuban cigar with a small pigtail and it’s packed in a cardboard box. The cigar feels well constructed and has a nice wrapper with some small veins. The predraw is fine and releases a raisin flavor. The aroma reminds me of a wet horse.
I taste wood & leather, spicy and soon I discovered a chocolaty aftertaste. The wood & chocolate disappear soon and it’s classic Cuban leather but still with a spicy bite to it. The finale brought the wood & chocolate back while the leather smoothly faded away.
Even though this is a small cigar, the smoke is thick and there is plenty smoke available. The ash is quite dark and I had a few minor burning issues.
Would I buy this cigar again? Probably not, even though I liked the flavors but this cigar is too small for me

Trinidad Robusto Extra

This 6 x 52 Trinidad Cuban puro stands out from the masses because of the pigtail at the mouthpiece of the cigar. The wrapper is pretty and only has some small veins. The aroma is mild but clearly the well known Cuban barnyard smell. The predraw is on the hard side of fine and leaves me with a raisin flavor.
I can taste warm coffee and leather flavors soon to be accompanied by a chocolate aftertaste. After an inch the coffee and leather disappear and the chocolate becomes the main flavor and turns a bit creamy. The power of the flavor grows a bit. Halfway I can taste the mild leather flavor again. At 2/3rds I say goodbye to the chocolate, creamy leather keeps me company until a full nutty flavor tells me it is time to put the cigar away.

The draw is on the tough side of good. The amount of smoke is a bit thin, I would have liked a bit more smoke. The ash is compact, firm and light colored with a perfect burn. In the beginning this cigar doesn’t pack a lot of power to the flavors, but slowly the flavors and the cigar become more powerful, although it never turns into a powerhouse. I would call this cigar a medium smoke.
Would I buy this cigar again? Even though I liked the finish, I don’t think I will buy this cigar again due to the high price.
