Tabak Especial belicoso negro

Now I swore never to smoke a flavored or infused cigar anymore after smoking the horrible Gorillafinger by Lars Tetens, but people kept saying that the Tabak especial negro was worth trying so I gave the Tabak Especial negro belicoso a try. I got this 5×52 cigar at the Intertabac trade show.

I smell a chemical chocolate smell, the smell is quite strong too. I do like the band on this almost black cigar with a big vein on the wrapper. The construction feels good. The wrapper tastes disgustingly sweet. The predraw is tight and all I taste is that nasty chemical sweetness from the wrapper.
120225tabakespecialbelinegro2
I taste an earthy flavor with chemical sweetness. I also taste some leather. After three quarters of an inch I taste leather with that chemical sweetness. The earthy flavors have gone. After an inch the cigar gets less chemical and the sweetness turns floral. Slowly some spicy herbs show up too.
120225tabakespecialbelinegro3
Halfway I taste spicy herbs with a floral sweetness. I also taste a bit of red pepper. After two thirds I still taste the floral flavors, a hint of nuts and a peppery and herbal aftertaste. Near the end I taste pepper with a nasty chemical floral flavor.

This cigar lasted me for an hour and five horrible minutes. The draw is great and I got a decent amount of smoke. The smell is chemical. The light gray ash is compact and firm. This cigar is medium flavored and medium bodied.

Swisser Sweets corona

A friend send me this terrible 5 inch ring 42 piece of sh*t. The thing that surprises me is that this cigar actually has a tobacco aroma to it even though the wrapper is tobacco paper. The predraw is ok and a bit sweet.
090126swissersweets1
After lighting I taste a sweetness, not as chemical as the flavored C.A.O.’s, Phillies and White owls but still no natural flavor. After an inch there is also a bit bitter pepper flavor that accompanies the sweetness. This flavor will last the whole cigar.
090126swissersweets2
The smoke and draw are ok.

Would I buy this cigar again? No. If this was the last cigar on earth I would quit smoking.

Hookah melon burst by Drew Estate

You can say what you want, but the appearance is top notch, the box looks good, the 4 x 45 cigars look really good with the dark almost vein less wrapper and the double bands.
090125hookahmelonburst1
The flavor is, like almost all flavored cigars, sweet, chemical sweet and this one indeed has a flavor that slightly reminds me of melon. Overall this is a nasty sweet cigar, not nice to smoke.
090125hookahmelonburst2
The smoke, burn and draw are ok.

Would I buy this cigar again? Hell no!

C.A.O. Eileens dream

It comes in a nice little tubo and that is probably the only positive I can say about this cigar. It is wrapped in cellophane inside the tubo. The aroma is a weird sweet coffee smell. The difference between the White Owl’s, Phillies, Hookah’s and Swissers is that this cigar needs to be cut.
090124caoeileensdream1
The flavor is chemical, chemical sugar, and that is it. A nasty sweetness which makes me cough a lot.
090124caoeileensdream2
The burn is close to perfect and there is plenty of smoke coming from this nasty stick.

White owl grape

Another review in the “Volt flavored cigar series” and another White owl, the grape flavored one this time. This cigar is 4 ¾ inch long with a 40 ring. The wrapper is flawless, as it’s made out of tobacco paper and not real tobacco.
090104whiteowlgrape1-21-13-06
The construction isn’t that good as little pieces of tobacco fall out of the cigar, which shows it’s a short filler. The aroma is sweet, a fruity bubblegum smell.
090104whiteowlgrape2-21-13-06
What can I say? Fortunately I can’t taste a lot of flavor in this smoke, just some bubblegum like I used to buy when I was a kid. The draw, burn and smoke of this cigar are good, but that’s all.

Game

This is another cigar in the ‘Volt flavored cigar review series’. A green cigar called “Game” and the text “slow burning” on the cigar band. The wrapper is green, and has veins all over. The cigar is 6 ¼ inch long and has a 44 ring. The aroma is liquorices.
081224game1
The construction isn’t that good, the tobacco drops from the foot. The predraw is good and the flavor reminds me of liquorices allsorts. After lighting I can actually taste a chemical liquorice allsorts but not really overpowering.
081224game2
The smoke is good, the ash is light and firm. The draw is just fine.
081224game3
Would I buy this cigar again? No way!

Phillies chocolate

This is another flavored cigar that was send to me by an American friend as a joke, he already relieved me from my duties to review it, but I gave him my word and what am I if my word isn’t good enough anymore? The other reviews can be found on my blog too.
081222phillieschocolade1
This is a 5 inch ring 41 cigar with a dark wrapper, nice and clean, but it’s no real tobacco. The wrapper is tobacco paper. There is a little hole in the back so you don’t need to cut the cigar. The aroma is sweet and not recognizable.
081222phillieschocolade2
At the predraw I could actually taste some chocolate, but a cheap, bad, chemical chocolate while I like the high quality dark chocolate. After lighting the cigar the chocolate flavor disappears and it’s just a chemical sweetness.
081222phillieschocolade3
The tobacco paper leaves a strange ash, but the draw, smoke and burn are good. This isn’t a good cigar, no way, but it is not as worse as the Lars Tetens Gorillafinger or the Phillies Peach and White Owl pineapple I smoked before.

Would I buy this cigar again? A simple NO is the answer to this question.

C.A.O. Moontrance

What can I say? The packaging is nice, a fine, arty blue tube to hold the ring 30 4 ¾ inch cigar and the tube keeps the smell of air freshener combined with pastry nicely concealed. The wrapper is real tobacco, not the tobacco paper that Swisser Sweets use. It has some nice veins.
081207caomoontrance1
After lighting this horrible thing I smell a terrible sweet smell and the flavor is like a very chemical suger candy. The flavor is concentrated on the lips and not in the mouth. I feel a little burning sensation on the tip of my tongue.
081207caomoontrance2
The draw is light but this cigar produces a lot of smoke for a little thing.
081207caomoontrance3
Would I buy this cigar again? Yes, and I will give it to people who I dislike

White Owl pineapple

My buddy Volt set me up with some flavored cigars to review them on my blog and this White Owl Pineapple is one of those nasty smelling cigars. Fortunately it isn’t a big cigar with the 4.75 inch length and 40 ring gauge. The nasty smell is released as soon as I remove the cellophane wrapper.
081122whiteowlpineapple1
You don’t need to cut this cigar as it has a nice little hole in the mouthpiece. The construction is off as the cigar doesn’t feel as consistently firm everywhere.
081122whiteowlpineapple2
The flavor is a chemical sweetness, when I try real hard I can notice that they tried to make the cigar taste like pineapple and tobacco but the sweetness is overwhelming. It is not as bad as the Phillies peach though until I reach a very bitter part of the cigar which makes me cough a lot. The cigar stays bitter with some sweetness on my lips

Phillies peach

Someone, a friend on Cigar Asylum listening to the nickname Volt, send me some flavored cigars for me to review. Why? Probably for fun, his fun, because he didn’t do me a favor. But there will be revenge, I promise!

This small 5 inch ring 41 cigar has a heavy peach smell, reminds me to bubblegum, the bubblegum I didn’t like as a kid, so why do I try to smoke something like that 25 years later? I must have lost my mind. The band is ugly, but that fits the cigar.

The predraw is fine and the aroma is sweet. Low down dirty sweet, disgusting. After lighting the cigar it tastes like sweet thick peach flavored lemonade. A very chemical flavor which almost makes me puke, but somehow I seem to get used to the flavor because the urge to puke fades away the longer I smoke the cigar. It keeps disgusting though.

Would I buy this cigar again? Hell no!
