Montecristo Edicion Limitada 2006

This 2006 limitada robusto by Montecristo is an appealing cigar with its nice dark wrapper and just a few slight veins. The cigar hardly produces any aroma. The size is 5×50 and the cigar feels well constructed. The predraw was a bit easy and releases a light flavor of raisin.

I taste a recognizable Cuban leather flavor with some grassy flavor added. After an inch the grassy flavor disappears and it’s just leather. At 2/3rd of the cigar some cedar wood joins the leather. Flavor wise this cigar isn’t very interesting

The cigar produces a lot of smoke and a light colored firm ash. The draw is fine. This is a medium bodied cigar.

Would I buy this cigar again? No, Montecristo offers better cigars in their regular production

Montecristo #1

This Montecristo #1 is a 6.3 inch ring 40 cigar with an oily wrapper with small veins, a light aroma and a good construction.

Smooth soft leather with a bit of pepper is what I taste. Not much of a development in the flavor department at the start. The pepper disappears soon and the leather becomes a bit bitter. After finishing about half the cigar the leather suddenly grows in strength and a nutty flavor supports the leather. The cigar slowly grows in strength and I could even taste a grassy flavor. The finale is wood, toast and nutty.

The smoke is fine, the draw is good and the ash is dark. No complaints about the burn.

Would I buy this cigar again? No, I prefer other sizes.

Montecristo edmundos

The Montecristo Edmundo is a well known cigar with a good reputation, and not without a reason. The 135mm long ring 52 cigar has a rough appearance, oily wrapper with lots of veins, a distinct stable aroma and an easy predraw.

The first flavor is coffee with toast but after a few puffs it’s replaced by the typical Cuban leather flavor and a small pepper on the palate… The pepper soon disappears but the leather stays noticeable. Halfway the cigar the leather is replaced by a creamy chocolate. The creamy chocolate and Cuban leather keep on replacing each other. At the end of the cigar, right before the late turning point, the creamy chocolate is accompanied by a pepper on the lips.

The Montecristo Edmundo is full flavored and full bodied, the smoke could be a bit richer. Too bad that the burn was a bit crooked.

Would I buy this cigar again? Probably, but not complete boxes, just an occasional single
